Committees

Coastal Habitat for Humanity's Volunteer Committees are an integral part of our operations and achieving our mission. Whether you have a specific background or simply have an interest in helping families in need, we have a place for you! Golf Classic Committee
The Golf Classic Committee is responsible for planning our Annual Golf Classic that takes place each Fall. Members are asked to assist with securing players and sponsors, coordinating marketing efforts, and the logistics leading up to the event. The committee meets monthly throughout the Spring and Summer.

Habitat Young Professionals
Habitat Young Professionals is a group of philanthropic professionals dedicated to the mission of Coastal Habitat for Humanity. The mission of HYP is to engage socially conscious young professionals, ages 21-39, to raise funds, promote volunteerism, and create awareness for the need of affordable homeownership in our communities.

Women Build Committee
The Women Build committee will assist in the planning and execution of Coastal Habitat's annual Women Build event, taking place each year on the Saturday before Mother's Day. Throughout the year, the committee will promote the event and organize build days, fundraisers, and various events.

Building on Faith Committee
The purpose of the Building on Faith Committee is to recognize, celebrate, provide support for, reach out to, and increase participation from the local Faith Community for Coastal Habitat for Humanity. The Building on Faith Committee assists the affiliate with:

  • Identifying & cultivating faith based organizations not yet involved with Coastal Habitat for Humanity.
  • Planning activities to engage the faith community.

Construction Committee
The Construction Committee plans and implements construction projects for Coastal Habitat. The committee is responsible for obtaining building permits and inspections, soliciting professional help and donations of building materials, and supervising construction. The committee will be made up of design and construction professionals as well as individuals with an interest in construction. 

Family Services Committee
The Family Support Committee assists potential partner families with the application process, approve families for Habitat homes, and supports partner families through the homeownership & sweat equity process.

Volunteer Relations Committee
The Volunteer Relations Committee will assist the affiliate with recruiting, training, and recognizing volunteers in order to carry out the work of Coastal Habitat for Humanity. Some of the responsibilities include updating and tracking volunteer information, organizing volunteer orientations and creating volunteer recognition events

Development Committee
The Development Committee is responsible for coordinating fundraising activities to help finance Coastal Habitat for Humanity. Activities include, but are not limited to; assisting with fundraising campaigns, grant proposal writing, and building relationships with potential donors.

Community Outreach Committee
The goal of this committee will be to assist Coastal Habitat in reaching more members of our communities and spreading awareness of our mission. This includes attending local festivals & events, contacting local businesses, etc. Members should be comfortable with public speaking and possess an understanding of the mission. Training will be provided.

Marketing Committee
Join a team of professionals dedicated to increasing the awareness of Coastal Habitat's impact. Volunteer positions include graphic design, writing, video production and social media management for both the organization and its ReStore thrift store. You can make an impact with flexible hours and working remotely.
