Coastal Habitat For Humanity’s Hearts & Hammers Celebration Honors "Those Who Have Given Their Best" Charity Marks Two Decades Of Service In Southern Monmouth County

Coastal Habitat for Humanity will proudly celebrate 20 years of assisting southern Monmouth County families in need of simple, decent, affordable housing at an Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Manasquan River Golf Club.

The 20th anniversary theme is "Hearts & Hammers: Honoring Those Who Have Given Their Best." "The theme was chosen to reflect the spirit of Coastal Habitat for Humanity’s service to the community and our amazing partners who have made such a difference for those in need in our community over the past two decades," according to Maureen Mulligan, Coastal Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director.

The event will honor three partners for their exemplary support of Coastal Habitat for Humanity’s mission. Brian Church, principal of The Brian Church Group, and a former Board Chair of Coastal Habitat will receive The Golden Heart Founders Award in recognition of his outstanding individual leadership. Manasquan Saving Bank, a longtime supporter of Coastal Habitat will receive The Golden Hammer Award in recognition of its outstanding corporate citizenship and partnership. The Allstate Foundation will receive the Golden Hardhat Award in acknowledgement of its special support of Sandy recovery projects.

About Coastal Habitat for Humanity:

Coastal Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1994 when 13 local friends came together to meet the community’s needs for simple, decent, affordable housing. Since then, through the community’s generous support and thousands of hours of volunteer work, Coastal Habitat for Humanity has achieved that for more than 100 families in 18 communities in southern Monmouth County. Through the vision of its founders, the generosity of the community, and the contributed labor of dedicated volunteers, Coastal Habitat has helped to provide simple, decent homes for southern Monmouth low income families who have needed a "hand up", not a "hand out" including the elderly, disabled and veterans. In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, Coastal assisted over 40 families to rebuild their homes and lives.
