Communications Intern

Responsibilities:

• Assist with developing creative content for newsletters, social media and outreach including videos and photos 
• Interview homeowners 
• Write press releases and contact local media outlets
• Assist with end of year outreach including direct mail and email appeals

Required skills:

• Experience with video and photo editing is required
• Graphic designs skill are preferred 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable speaking with Habitat homeowners and community members 
• Self-motivated and creative thinking
• Ability to multi-task and organize multiple projects at once

Time commitment:

Approximately 10 – 15 hours per week on a set schedule. Hours are negotiable, but the intern will be expected to adhere to a weekly schedule. 

Resource Development Intern

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Resource Development Manager with implementing the affiliates fund development plan
• Manage and grow the promotion of the Cars for Homes program
• Assist with end of year outreach including direct mail and donor acknowledgement
• Record and acknowledge donations as they are received
• Assist with monthly newsletter content, writing updates as needed

Required skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Self-motivated and creative thinking
• Ability to multi-task and organize multiple projects at once

Time commitment:

Approximately 10 – 15 hours per week on a set schedule. Hours are negotiable, but the intern will be expected to adhere to a weekly schedule.
