Construction
is now under way at 36 Borden Avenue in Asbury Park as part of Operation
Westside. This is the first of four homes to be built off of Springwood
Avenue by Coastal Habitat for Humanity. We are partnering with Affordable
Housing Alliance and Interfaith Neighbors to construct a total of 30
affordable housing units in Asbury Park.

We are now looking for volunteers to help with construction.
We are now building on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Registration/sign in at 8:30 am and work day concludes at 4:30 pm.

A Brush With Kindness
In addition to new home construction, we also have an ongoing program called
"A BRUSH WITH KINDNESS" which is focused on the
exterior painting and minor repairs of existing homes that have fallen into
disrepair due to the inability of elderly or disabled homeowners to keep up
with the maintenance of their homes. Projects are short term, scheduled for
one weekend and are ideal for groups, or individuals who are interested in
painting, lot clean up and minor exterior home fix up projects.
We are actively looking for volunteers who would like to be trained to become
an ABWK Team Leader. The Team Leader will assist the ABWK Steering
Committee by providing expertise, leadership and coordination of a team of
volunteers assigned to work on a specific qualifying house. They also assess
the scope of the work required, meet with the homeowner to schedule work and
lead the team of volunteers the day of the project.
